How To Get Your Perfect Timber Door
We have worked with many clients to create wonderful, bespoke solutions that exceed expectations. We know that sometimes it can be tricky to decide on the look you want. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- If you need a new door to replicate your old one we can faithfully copy it.
- If you want a new door but are not sure what design would be most appropriate we can offer some suggestions and design and build one for you.
- If you have seen something you like while you were out and about, or found the style you like in a magazine or on the internet, send us a picture and we can make a similar one to fit your opening
- If your architect has designed a door, send us the drawing.
If you want something unique or contemporary for your home, or to stand out from the crowd, we can realise your dream.
Some Of Our Work
External Timber Doors
Material
We recommend Accoya for stability, with Accoya or Tricoya panels. Alternatively, if you want a natural or stained finish perhaps you would choose European Oak or Sapele (we would recommend these are manufactured from cross laminated engineered section for dimensional stability).
New door panels are usually sandwiched with insulation to improve the u value, and double glazed with slim line insulating units.

Timber Door Frames, Fanlights, and Leaded Glass
If the existing door frame is in good condition, not twisted, not out of square and the old door was sufficiently thick (minimum 44 mm ) it might be worth considering fitting a new door into your existing frame. If the existing door frame is not in good condition we would supply both the frame and door. Our new external doors are usually 48mm – 56mm thick depending on the locking system.
- You may have a fanlight above the door or side screens; we will replicate these.
- You might have leaded glass in your old door, we can usually incorporate this into your new design door set.
Timber Door Locking
We offer a choice of Multipoint Locking, Cylinder Lock and BS 5 lever Deadlock, BS 5 lever Sash Lock and BS 5 Lever Deadlock, or – where historically appropriate – a traditional face fitted rim lock with a BS 5 Lever deadlock.
(When doors are sold with out a frame on a supply only basis we do not normally supply and fit locks.)
Timber Door Furniture
There are a huge array of options and finishes, too many to keep in stock and we realise choosing door furniture is often a matter of individual preference! On this basis you can choose from one of our recommended on-line suppliers or from your own preferred supplier.
When doors are sold without a frame, on a supply only basis, we do not normally supply and fit furniture to it.
French Doors, Multiple Folding Doors, Doors with Screens, Ornate Fanlights, Radial and Curved On Plan Doors
We can make any of the above bespoke doors to your requirements – just send us a request!
Internal Timber Doors
We manufacture bespoke internal timber doors on a supply only basis. Tulipwood is our default material for internal doors. These can be supplied fully spray finished, or primed and undercoated to a high standard.
Alternatively, we could use Douglas Fir or Oak for your internal timber door material.
We can also supply specialist door linings architraves and architectural mouldings.
Other Internal Timber Doors
We can supply Nominal Fire Doors and “Facing” as well as off the shelf certified fire doors to fit in with vernacular detailing.
We can also manufacture internal wooden cupboard doors, and shutters and panels.
